Frank and Hoboken Random Bits

Welcome to the Hoboken and Downtown Jersey City Map of Frank and Judy Marciano and some aerial photos. Frank started on this map for his Hoboken Attorney Website and his wife Judy soon joined in to help him learn about the streets of Hoboken and Jersey City for her realtor career. What started as a little handwritten sketch soon grew to a full-grown project in Photoshop, They have posted it online to share it with their friends and people of Hoboken. It looks great as a screensaver or a colorful printout. Enjoy.

When I was young, my father read to me "The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam" It has touched me deeply throughout my life. It is a collection of poems attributed to the Persian mathematician and poet Omar Khayyam, who lived in the 11th and 12th centuries. The collection is made up of quatrains, or four-line stanzas, that explore themes such as the fleeting nature of life, the importance of enjoying the present moment, and the mysteries of the universe. The Rubaiyat gained popularity in the Western world in the 19th century after it was translated into English by Edward FitzGerald from the original Persian text and focuses on the themes of hedonism and existentialism. The poems have been celebrated for their beauty, philosophical insights, and lyrical language. They have been interpreted in various ways, including as an expression of Khayyam's Sufi beliefs, as a commentary on Persian culture and society, and as a critique of Western materialism.
